I went back and checked some documentation and mine had 1.04. My POD XT Live and Pro both upgraded with no issues but their firmware was more recent than 1.01. Then went on the Line 6 site to their forums and confirmed that MIDI cable was necessary to upgrade from v. Then I downloaded the file and tried to "update from file" same problem. When I tried to update the firmware, got a message "this firmware version does not support USB updates". When I connected my used POD XT to my PC with USB cable, I was able to update the USB driver. If it won't connect it may still be a PC issue, not the XT.

The USB interface is a prime feature on the XT's, are you absolutely positive the POD XT is the problem? Have you tried it? You need to download and install the USB drivers from Line 6. But, I was able to use the USB to do the updates. It didn't have the firmware version that came out last year (don't remember what versions). My POD XT came with a very early firmware version when I bought it last year. Hate to buy a new cable for a one-time use.Īnyone have one of these cables I can beg, buy, borrow, trade? Will only need it once. I have to use a PC Sound card gameport to MIDI adapter cable to update it to the latest firmware, then can do future updates by USB.
My POD XT has firmware version 1.01 which does not support updates by USB. Topic: POD XT firmware updates with MIDI? Your profile | join | preferences | help | search Classic country shuffle styles for Band-in-a-Box, by BIAB guru Jim Baron.
